Alp Arslan (1072-1026) was the second Seljuk sultan of Iran and Iraq and a member of the Turkan dynasty, who restored Islamic rule during the decline of the Abbasid dynasty.
Alp Arslan was born in the year 1026 (or 1029 or 1032) to Muhammad bin Dawud in the province of Karasan in the Arab Empire. He was the grandson of the Seljuk chief Turkmen Gud, who invaded Southwest Asia in the 11th century.
The famous military leader Alp Arslan (his name means "Lion Hero") launches a major campaign for his father Dawood Chagri Bey, the commander of the Turkmen forces in Khorasan. I started my work. When his father died in 1059/1060, Alp Arslan succeeded him.

The new Sultan soon faced internal opposition. Kutormish, his father's cousin, involved Khorasan in rebellion in 1064 and his younger brother Kaled (founder of Kerman dynasty) rebelled twice in 1064 and 1067.
In the midst of suppressing unruly subordinates, Arslan Alp marched against his neighbors. His first important action was the invasion of Georgia and Armenia in 1064, during which the king of Georgia recognized the Seljuk monarchy.
The following year, the Sultan led an army across the Nile. In 1070, during the campaign to Syria, he captured Aleppo. Then his territories spread from Central Asia to the Mediterranean Sea.
Alp Arslan was a brave man and treated his opponents generously. His power lay in the military sphere, so that domestic affairs were managed by his Iranian vizier, Nizam al-Mulk, the founder of the administrative organization that characterized and strengthened the sultan during the reign of Alp Arslan and his son.
To support soldiers and settle nomadic Turks in the established agricultural scene of Iran, military centers were established under the rule of the Seljuk princes.
In 1072, during an expedition to Turkestan, Alp Arslan was stabbed by one of the captured commanders of a recently conquered fortress. He soon died on November 24 and was succeeded by his son Malik Shah.
